+ | Have you decided yet? I don't want to make lots of arbitrary links to pages that will just be redirects. I would feel a lot more comfortable adding content to the wiki if we had a standard. That said, I think we should really go with the singular standard. Singular titles can easily be linked to as plural without using a redirect (like this: coins), but the reverse isn't true for plural titles (so coin is inconvenient to write). Plural article titles simply can't be applied to some things (like users, contests and individual worlds), so having everything be singular would be a lot more consistent. I've never seen action tiles be called "actions", yet that's what the page for it is named. It will also bring some debate on whether or not certain pages should be singular or plural. For example, should the page for Code be renamed Codes? So, please, any mod who is reading this, consider going with the option that'll help the wiki in nearly every way. --N1KF (talk) 00:38, 19 June 2018 (EDT) | ||

Proposal for singular page titles
Page titles should be in singular. This is consistent with Wikipedia's style, which most users would be more familiar with, and it would be more convenient in pretty much every way. --N1KF (talk) 17:09, 13 June 2018 (EDT)

What's the REAL standard?
Years have passed and I think I object to the original decisions made here. I have a heavy suspicion that many of the terms that must be capitalized, such as Smiley, aren't actually capitalized. I also suspect that the use of tiles over blocks is very uncommon, but I was surprised to find a few uses of it.
In-game
In the EverybodyEdits225 server version, magical coin is used. It looks like Energy is used in the notification, but energy is used in the chat.
Help Page
The Everybody Edits help page has some insights on how certain terms are capitalized. I'm not including the headers since they're all in title case.
The page consistently uses blocks, not tiles.
We see the following terms are capitalized mid-sentence:
- Blocks, Action, Decorative, and Backgrounds (as block categories)
- Energy Shop (2)
- "Get Gems" button
- Campaign Mode (2)
- Small Worlds
- Huge Worlds
The following aren't:
- aura (Energy Shop category)
- block (8)
- campaign (5)
- chat (6)
- classic (Energy Shop category)
- coins
- command (8)
- featured levels
- gems (6)
- items (8)
- level (2)
- magic coins
- "more" tab
- shop (5)
- smiley (3)
- world (8)
Energy and energy are used inconsistently. Energy is only used 1 time in the Energy Shop section, and energy is used 5 times in the Energy and Gems section.

New Game Interface
This one consistently uses tiles instead of blocks. This is notably before the addition of edit tab categories. It also uses:
- beta room menu
- chat
- god mode
- Goto Lobby button
- tile (10)

- beta version
- room

So we have god mode and godmode, tile and brick, room and world... I think we can agree Benjaminsen isn't consistent, so I'll skip over posts that don't add major features.

- minimap

MrShoe capitalizes pretty much nothing.

Looks inconsistent whether names of individual items are capitalized. More research may need to be done.

Official Everybody Edits Forums
The Official Everybody Edits Forums index uses a non-capitalized world twice in section descriptions.
Conclusion
- Categories of items (blocks, smileys, worlds, crews), and other common terms like shop, campaign, and minimap are pretty much never capitalized, so the wiki should reflect this.
- Block is far more common than tile, so we should allow that use. I have to correct myself every time I instinctively write "blocks". The Block page should be moved to Blocks (category).
- Coin and coins are generally not capitalized. (Exception: the "Coins" package should be referred to like other packages, see below.)
- Energy Shop, Builders Club, Gold Membership, Campaign Mode, and Campaign System should be capitalized.
Uncertain
- Item names are usually capitalized, but not always. Whether extra words (like the Smiley in Ninja Smiley) is even less inconsistent.
- Whether to make more exceptions for capitalization, for Action blocks like portals.
- Capitalization of the four categories of blocks (Blocks, Action, Decorative, and Background).
- Whether to capitalize the W in One-Ways.
- Beta, currencies, and everything else looks inconsistent.
Any objections to this? I'm losing my mind so I'll stop here for now.
