Note: The Manual of Style is not complete, nor is it in effect. All text below the line is written as a draft and not to be taken as a final guide.
The Manual of Style is a guide that applies to all articles, standardizing specific spelling, capitalization, and grammar. Some of these have two or more choices that may vary usage within the wiki. These should not be changed without proper reasoning unless the usage varies within one article itself, in which case it should be changed to fit.
It should be noted that some of the style practices may occasionally contradict the usage from that of Everybody Edits or one of its official staff members. This is because style choices are made consistent within the wiki, where as the game has some inconsistency regarding terminology, spelling, and capitalization. If the game gains an official consistent style regarding any of these consistencies, the wiki will accordingly be modified to fit these standards.
Bold text is used to mark emphasis, so that users can refer to the guide more quickly.

Terminology
Tiles
Blocks is used to refer to all in-game tiles that can be placed in a level, including foreground blocks, action, decoration, and backgrounds.
Foreground blocks is used to refer to all blocks within the "Blocks" tab. These tiles are all either unchanging solid tiles, one-way tiles, or any of the tiles in the Secret Package.
Bricks is used to refer to all blocks inside the Brick Package. When used uncapitalized, it can also be used generically to refer to other packages with bricks-based tiles, including, but not limited to Jail and Marble. If Bricks is used ambiguously at the beginning of a sentence to refer to blocks in the Bricks Package, the sentence should either be rephrased to use Bricks later in the sentence, or else the term Brick Package should be used to make it clearer.
Inconsistent smiley names
In case of an inconsistency within smiley names, the most recent name should be used. In case there are still inconsistent names, either may be used, but the name seen on the smiley selection menu take superiority in page titles (such as Night Vision over Nightvision).
Capitalization
Game content
When used in an article, general terms referring to a variety of objects (such as smiley, block, world, or package) are not capitalized unless used at the beginning of a sentence or in an article title. Specific titles, such as Red Ninja or Beta are capitalized, along with the things they represent if used after the name (Worker Smiley or Massive World). The of in Lady's former name Helen of Sparta should not be capitalized.
Features, such as gem and magic are generally not capitalized to match with the preferred spelling within Everybody Edits. Energy Shop is always capitalized, regardless of usage.
- Correct: A Massive World can be filled with lots of blocks, such as the Factory Package or Easter 2012 Decorations.
- Incorrect: The Bully smiley costs ten Energy.
The community
Terms generically referring to staff members such as "moderator" or "administrator" are usually not capitalized. However, when the Staff are referred to as a specific team of people, it should be capitalized.
Usernames
Levels
Article and section titles
Article titles should be spelled in title case, meaning that all words but unimportant ones (a, an, the, etc.) in the title are capitalized.
- Correct: Minigame Levels
- Incorrect: Minigame levels
Section heading titles should be in sentence case, meaning that the section is spelled the same as the beginning of a grammatically correct sentence.
- Correct: External links
- Incorrect: External Links
Spelling
Spelling of smilies
Smileys, while incorrect spelling outside this wiki, is used in the game more commonly. Smilies, while correct, is less often used in the game. A writer may choose either smileys or smilies, but this should be consistent within an article. Smiley should always be used instead of "smilie," regardless of the plural form used in the article.
